NEED TO SURRENDER A DOG?

There are a few things that SRC must have before a decision can be made to take in your dog. Use the following checklist to ensure you have gathered all information needed and then email SRC at   adoptions@schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org. If you do not have any of the following, make sure to explain why.

REQUESTS TO TAKE IN A DOG WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

  •  2 Full Body Photos of the dog in its current condition
  • Medical records faxed to (910) 401-1317
  • Reason for surrendering your dog
  • Thorough explanation of the dog's temperament (i.e., training, habits, likes/dislikes, age, reactions to other animals, ever bitten, etc.).
  • Where you obtained the dog and how long you have had it.

Once SRC receives all of the items, a decision will be made within 72 hours as to whether or not we can take in your dog. Please note that it will be up to the discretion of SRC as to whether or not we meet the dog before accepting it into rescue.

If we accept your dog into rescue, you will be required to sign a notarized Owner Release Form, and once that is received, the intake of the dog can take place at a location deemed appropriate by SRC.
